Jakarta's IPM is the Highest in Indonesia

Jakarta Statistic Center Agency record, human development index (IPM) of Jakarta is the highest compared with other cities in Indonesia. The IPM includes health, knowledge and expenses indexes.

In 2014, Jakarta's IPM number was 78. 39. As for the lowest is Papua with the number is 56.75

"In 2014, Jakarta's IPM number was 78.39. As for the lowest is Papua with the number is 56.75," said Head of Jakarta BPS, Nyoto Widodo, Tuesday (9/15).

The development of IPM in Jakarta, he said, is influenced by some factors, such as life expectancy number (AHH), school duration expectancy (HLS), school duration average (RLS) and trend of expense growth per capita in Jakarta.

Basuki Wants Jakartans Life Expectancy Up to 85 Years

"The highest IPM number for city level are South Jakarta (82.94) and East Jakarta (80.40), but the highest is Jogjakarta (83.78)," he explained.

IPM itself, he added, is one of indicators for measuring success in developing human life quality. Government uses it for determining development target.
