Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama (Ahok) plans to develop Port of Jakarta. Jakarta Provincial Government will involve PT Pelindo and PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol to realize the plan.
The concept, Basuki said, imitates the Port of Rotterdam, Netherlands. It is related with the island reclamation. There will be five islands to be used to support this concept.

The five reclamation islands are N island owned by PT Pelindo, O, P, and Q island owned by Jakarta Provincial Government, and M island owned by PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol.
"Port of of Jakarta will use those five islands," he added.
He wanted this project will be the center of Asia. The project could spend US$ 5 billion.
"Port of Rotterdam could have a stock to invest here in Port of Jakarta. It is more efficient," he stated.
Jakarta Provincial Government will also increase the PT Kawasan Berikat Nusantara (KBN)'s stock ownership and given to PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro). Previously, city's stock is only 20 percent in PT KBN.
"The composition could be 50:50," Basuki uttered.
He also wanted the Netherlands and Pelindo assist the 17 islands reclamation project.
"O, P, and Q island will be the port logistic center. Rotterdam and Jakarta should not have sister city program, but also sister port," he disclosed.
