Elders, Ride Transjakarta Bus Free of Charge

Elders in Jakarta who have Bank DKI account can ride Transjakarta bus for free.

"I've told elders who have Bank DKI account that they can ride Transjakarta for free," said Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama, in the event of Healthy Walking Fight for Senile the commemoration of World Alzheimer's Month at Southwest Entrance of Monas, Sunday (9/27).

He told, the elders who have insufficient money should open the account thus they could be given non cash donation. Considering the Governor is no longer give donation in form of rice and any others. "For circumcision, we will just give money via Bank," he told.

Basuki: We Want Jakartans to Have Long Life

Besides Bank DKI, Ahok also asked other banks to cooperate with the government giving service to underprivileged citizens. The requirement is, the bank must contribute bus armada through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). "It'll help our economy. If CIMB wants to join go ahead, but they should contribute a bus," he disclosed.

According to him, if buses in the city have made ends meet, all citizens would also be freed to ride the bus as long as their income is only Rp 2,7 million.

Not only that, the government has also provided community health centers (Puskesmas) and clinics in traditional markets for elders who need.

Citizens who have trouble to get medical treatment in health centers because of transportation, could get home service through Ketuk Pintu Layani dengan Hati program.

"The program can conduct home service for those who have trouble to get medical treatment," he exclaimed.
