317 Jati Pinggir PKLs will Be Relocated to Petamburan Flat

As many as 317 street vendors who are selling in traditional seasonal markets (pasar tumpah), Jalan Jati Pinggir, Petamburan, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, will be relocated to Petamburan Flat.

All street vendors in Jalan Jati Pinggir will be relocated to an empty land in Petamburan Flat

Central Jakarta Economic and Administration Assistant, Sulastri Gultom stated that the relocation is conducted as all this time those street vendors use sidewalk and roadside to open their stalls. Thus it makes the road congested.

"All street vendors in Jalan Jati Pinggir will be relocated to an empty land in Petamburan Flat. Currently we're coordinating with Jakarta House and Government's Building Department, so that the land could be used," she stated, when she observed the land, Wednesday (9/30).

She hopes the department would respond the plan, and the location could be arranged. Eventually the stalls will be made evenly. But if the budget is prepared or there is private side cooperating with corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, possibly a market will be built on the empty land thus it could give convenience for the vendors.

But the matter is, there are about 70 illegal buildings occupying the land.
