Basuki: Unruly Transjakarta Drivers will Be Dismissed

Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama will take firm action for those unruly Transjakarta bus drivers. It is regarding the bus' crash incident with Electrical Rail Train (KRL) at Jalan Panjang Kedoya, West Jakarta, last Saturday (11/28).

Our standard is very clear that unruly drivers will be dismissed

"Our standard is very clear that unruly drivers will be dismissed," asserted Ahok at City Hall.

According to Ahok, the drivers have been paid with quite high salary, that is up to 3.5 times of Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP). So that, they must have big responsibility. "Articulated bus drivers get salary  3.5 times of UMP. So if they're not appropriate with that, just get out," he stressed.

Spotlights to Be Installed at Tens JPO of Transjakarta Corridor

In future, his party will ask Scania or Hino company to train the drivers. By so, they would be more orderly in traffic and could minimize accident. "I want they to train the drivers," he disclosed.

As reported earlier, the accident occured at 2.15 PM on last Saturday. The bus involved was corridor VIII (Harmoni-Lebak Bulus). It was on Green Garden railway.
