Basuki: Nggak Apa-apa Dicaci Maki, Daripada Ada yang Mati

Joining Transjakarta, Metromini Drivers Would Be Prosperous

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama once again re-offered metromini drivers to join PT Transjakarta. Even, he intends to prosper the drivers who have joined.

If you're a good driver, offered with training, 2 folds of Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP), no need to look for passengers, you wouldn't refuse it

"If you're a good driver, offered with training, 2 folds of Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP), no need to look for passengers, you wouldn't refuse it," said Basuki, at City Hall, Monday (12/21).

According to him, it is pretty good offer for the metromini drivers. Because eventhough the owners and the crews threaten to hold strike action, the government will still raid unfeasible public transports.

Metromini Fleet's Grounded for Public's Safety, Basuki Says

"I don't mind if I 'm reviled by Jakartans. But all of unfeasible metromini are grounded, it's my decision to avoid more victims," he asserted.

He also has offered to pay rupiah per kilometer to metromini company for rejuvenating the vehicles. But it was not responded positively. "You can buy bus, we guarantee in bank as we pay rupiah per kilometer," he told.

Today, many metromini buses go on strike. It is because Jakarta Transportation Department impounds thousands unfeasible metromini buses. They demands their vehicles to be discharged.
