Jakarta Provincial Government and Ministry of Communication and Informatic (Kemenkominfo) launched short message service (SMS) for disaster early warning in Jakarta. The launching was marked with cooperation signing among both institutions.

It is addressed to people living in areas prone to flood, especially areas that passed by 13 rivers, such as Ciliwung, Krukut, Angke, Pesanggrahan, Sunter, and Cipinang.

The message that has been sent is "Flood early warning trial for Jakartans. The result of the cooperation between Ministry of Communication and Informatic-Jakarta Governor, supported by the Telecommunication Operator 021-164 Call Centre for BPBD".
