1,000 Scholarships Prepared for E. Jakarta Students

The East Jakarta Muslim Charity Collection Board (BAZIS) provided 1,000 scholarships to East Jakarta students this year. Of the 1,000 scholarships, 500 quotas will be dedicated to Senior High School (SMA) students and 500 others for college students.

The amount of compensation is not much, but it's expected able to motivate students to improve their achievement in each school

East Jakarta Mayor, Husein Murad revealed that through the scholarship, students are eligible to get education compensation by Rp 200,000 per month and Rp 250,000 per month for college students.

"The amount of compensation is not much, but it's expected able to motivate students to improve their achievement in each school. Hopefully, the Bazis can gather more funds next year, thus we're targeting to give scholarship to 2,000 people" he expressed, in the Multipurpose Room Block C of East Jakarta Mayor office, Wednesday (4/23).

East Jakarta Bazis Head, Dwi Busara uttered that the current recipient is dominated by new applicants, while the rest is advanced applicant. "In details, the advanced applicant reaches 115 people, and new applicant reaches 220 people," he explained.

To get the scholarship, especially underprivileged students, SMA students' score must be minimal 7. As for the PTN college students must get IPK 2.7, and PTS students with IPK 3.3.
