The inundation has disturbed the market activities, the buyers are reluctant to come into inside the market
The sellers selling groceries and clothes admitted that the market condition has been inundated since last year. Until now, there is no improvement to be done from the market management.
“The inundation has disturbed the market activities, the buyers are reluctant to come into inside the market. Moreover, if it rains, the inundation is quite high,” said Kabul, a cake seller in basement area on Wednesday (4/23).
Approaching Adipura, East Jakarta Still DisorganizedAjie Ruslan, Cibubur Market Chief, said that the inundation comes from 4 springs located in that basement. He admitted that he has set up a pump machine to pump the water to Cipinang River located beside the market.
“A machine to pump the water has been set up, but the springs cannot be stopped. Because of that, we pump it continuously for 24 hours. The officers are assisted by the sellers supervising that machine to operate continuously,” explained Ajie.
Besides that, a levee has been built to avoid the water getting into the basement. However, if rain pours heavily, the water still comes in because the machine cannot hold to pump the water completely outside the market.
Jaya Market PR, Agus Lamun refused if the water comes from the springs. According to him, the water comes from Cipinang River seepage located beside the market.
“That water comes from Cipinang River seepage. It can only be pumped effectively with pump machine. We have planned an improvement permanently,” said Agus.
