Reclamation, Developer Must Obey Government Rules

Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister, Rizal Ramli asserted the developer must obey the government rules. If not, the reclamation that being conducted will be stopped.

"As said by president, the reclamation must not be controlled by private side, but the government. Our duty, that's how to optimize three interests but controlled by the state," he expressed, while visiting to D Island, North Jakarta, Wednesday (5/4).

According to Ramli, there are three interests that must be accommodated in such reclamation, namely country, society and private. The country interest is to minimize the impact on the environment, such as spatial planning managed properly, reducing flood potential, and aspects of state revenue.

"Then there are also society and public interest, including accommodate fishermen. The latter is business and commercial interest," he told.

His party asks reclamation development that already underway and deviated from the rules must be corrected. But it must be waiting for the completed construction moratorium. "It must be in accordance with the law," he finished.
