West Jakarta Administration installed 17 new street lights along Jalan Angke, Grogol Petamburan. It is conducted because many lights were malfunctioned and the place was often used by sex commercial workers to look for customers.

Head of West Jakarta Industry and Energy Sub-Department City Lighting Section, Yanuar Ihsan, disclosed that the street lights were malfunctioned because the cables were cut by the sex commercial workers and irresponsible people. Not only that, the sex commercial workers also covered the street lights with fabrics to make the place dark, so they could operate freely.
“We’ve repeatedly installed street lights in that area. But, soon after the street lights malfunctioned again,” he said, Friday (6/6).

Fadil Imran uttered that lack of street lights led to criminal actions at some points in the capital city. In West Jakarta, those points are Jalan Tubagus Angke, Jalan Raya Joglo, and CNI Kembangan area.
“Besides installing street lights in dark areas, West Jakarta Administration should have installed CCTVs to prevent criminal actions,” he urged.
