487 Human Sculpture Attractions Will Color Jakarta's Anniversary

In welcoming Jakarta's 487th anniversary which falls on June 22, the city administration has prepared various events to enliven and entertain Jakartans. One of them is human sculpture attraction which will be participated by 487 humanoid artists.

"The human sculpture attraction is focusing on humanoid as living sculpture. The event will be staged in Taman Monas and City Hall for two days or precisely on June 21-22, around 8 AM-4 PM," said Head of Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department, Arie Budhiman, Thursday (6/19).

Besides Monas, Budhiman uttered, the 487 artists will also enliven the Jakarta Night Festival (JNF) along Jalan MH Thamrin on Saturday (6/21) night. “There will be 487 sculpture artists with a variety of characters who represent Jakarta multicultural," he expressed.

Then on June 22, those artists will perform at the Monas Park Plaza at 8 AM-4 PM. They would also color the City Hall and join in the Jakarnaval. There will be two world’s humanoid artists who are the winner of The World Championship of Living Statues 2013 in Arnhem City, Holland.

“These world's artists also shown to increase tourism visits in Jakarta," he revealed.

In that occasion, he added, the event is also planned to be enlivened by workshops, humanoid contest, Betawi traditional and music modern entertainments. About 100 participants of sculpture lover community to participate.
