KIR Permit Expired, Homecomers’ Bus Prohibited to Depart

Due to expired vehicle worthiness (KIR) test permit, a Laju Utama bus with trajectory Tanjung Priok-Merak B 7415 BW had its departure canceled from Tanjung Priok Terminal, Monday (7/21). Luckily, the passengers could still be transported by other bus from the same autobus company (PO).

We hold the bus and it cannot operate nor leave the terminal. If the bus company still wanted to transport passengers, it must provide other bus

If looking at the bus in a glance, it seemed worthy enough to operate. But since its KIR permit has expired, the bus was not allowed to transport passengers.

Head of Tanjung Priok Terminal, M Alfred Hutapea, stressed that all drivers and vehicles in his terminal must possess complete documents, such as driving license (SIM), KIR permit, KIR book, vehicle testing certificate (STUK), monitoring card (KPS), and business license card (KIU).

“The situation on the road, no bus can have expired permit. If we found KIR permit expired like this, we hold the bus and it cannot operate nor leave the terminal. If the bus company still wanted to transport passengers, it must provide other bus,” he stated.
