The City Police promised would take firm action against unruly Samsat officers as well as other officers in service stations. If there were officers proven doing violations, they will be sanctioned in form of administrative sanction, demotion, up to dishonorable discharge.
The sanction starts from administrative sanction, demotion, up to dishonorable discharge. There is no toleration against violations done by the personnel
“We cannot commercialize bureaucracy. Whatever conventional the bureaucracy is, it cannot be commercialized. Officers must not take bribe nor charge the people with illegal levy when giving services because they are already being paid and given remuneration,” stated City Police Traffic Director Sr. Comr. Restu Mulya Budyanto during sudden inspection in Central Jakarta Samsat office, Monday (8/25).
Budyanto explained that the inspection in Samsat office is done because he received reports about bribes and illegal levies happening there. Thus, he responded the reports by checking it himself.

According to Budyanto, an officer in Central Jakarta Samsat office was found keeping money in his desk’s drawer. The problem is that the money was found in an area that is not designated to receive money.
“There was an officer kept money, he told it was his saving’s money. I’m sure it was only a reason, because I found the money not in designated area,” he uttered.
In addition, Budyanto also found a service bureau bringing pile of documents out from a room which is a restricted area.
“There was a service bureau in a restricted area. Service bureau is only third party which given opportunities to assist public services. They supposed to follow the norms, line up, don’t cheat the customers, and do not enter rooms where only officers allowed,” he asserted.
Meanwhile, City Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto stressed that his party always takes firm action against personnel doing violations.
“The sanction starts from administrative sanction, demotion, up to dishonorable discharge. There is no toleration against violations done by the personnel,” he said.
