Construction of an ERP gate foundation has been completed. And its equipment is still being tested
After being tested on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman a while ago, the Jakarta Transportation Department is going to re-test out the system of Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) on Jalan Rasuna Said, Kuningan, at the end of this month.
Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, Muhammad Akbar said it is the same with trial on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, the next trial in Kuningan will also use one gate to record the passing vehicles. "Construction of an ERP gate foundation has been completed. And its equipment is still being tested," said Akbar, Thursday (9/4).
Free Double-decker Buses Prepared for ERP LanesThe trial in Kuningan will also involve 100 cars that would be installed with On Board Unit (OBU).
He admitted that ERP trial on Jalan Rasuna Said is similar with ERP trial on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. This is because its trial is only done to test out the equipment and search for the right location.
In trial phase, three sets of machine are installed to detect OBU located in the slow lane of Jalan Rasuna Said. In the ERP gate, there is a OBU reader equipment and three vehicle detection machines as well as cameras.
Those three machines consist of VDC Passage (a sensor to detect the type of vehicle), VR sensor (a camera that can take pictures of vehicle's license plates) and transceivers (data receiver from OBU).
ERP implementation is planned to be done in 2016 using the same mechanism as three-in-one lane. Later on, it will apply on Monday-Friday at 7-10 AM and 4-7 PM.
