Dozens of PMKS in Monas Netted

We net 20 PMKS. They are found under Djuanda (Bridge) and Monas

An intensified raid is often difficult to evict the existence of people with social welfare issues (POM) in Monas, Central Jakarta. Without fear and doubt, they often roam in the cheap recreational sites. But this time, dozens of PMKS cannot escape anymore and then taken to the social houses for coaching.

"We net 20 PMKS. They are found under Juanda (Bridge) and Monas," said Head of Service and Social Rehabilitation Section for Central Jakarta Social Sub-Department, Wanson Sinaga, Monday (9/8).

In the raid, officers also secured PMKS carrying a folding knife. Sinaga admitted his side also cooperates with Head of Monas Technical Management, Rini Hariani, to conduct the raid. Furthermore, the netted PMKS will be brought to the social houses in West Jakarta.

"We bring the netted PMKS to the PSBI BD Cengkareng," he told.

He expressed as many as 21 personnel and 3 civil servants were deployed to the field. Besides Monas, similar raid also held around the Istiqlal Mosque and will be carried out routinely this week.

"PMKS already begun rampant around the Istiqlal Mosque and have disturbed citizen activities. That's why we do coordination to overcome this matter," he added.

According to him, they are often begging alms to pilgrims forcibly. Thus a number of Satpol PP personnel are involved to net them to anticipate a riot. Moreover, the riot had colored the raid in the Istiqlal Mosque on Thursday (9/4), causing personnel of the Central Jakarta Social Sub-Department were injured and one operational car damaged.
