Meets Basuki, Ridwan Kamil Discussed about Jakartans in Bandung

Bandung Mayor, Ridwan 'Kang Emil' Kamil, came to City Hall, Tuesday (9/16), to meet Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama. Arrived at 12.15 PM, Emil went straight to the second floor of Blok B building where Basuki's office is located.

On weekends, all Jakartans go to Bandung and Bandung becomes congested

According to Emil, he wanted to see Basuki to discuss about traffic congestion in Bandung that always happened on weekends and allegedly triggered by Jakartans who were having vacation there. Thus, he urged Jakartans to take the train if they wanted to spend their weekend in Bandung, West Java, instead of driving their own vehicles.

“On weekends, all Jakartans go to Bandung and Bandung becomes congested. That’s why I came here (City Hall to meet Basuki). I also want to visit Ignasius Jonan (President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia), so everyone would take the train if they were going to Bandung,” uttered Emil.

City-ITB Signed MoU in City Management

When Emil arrived, Basuki was in a meeting with Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo in TPUT Room. After waiting for about 30 minutes, the meeting was over and Basuki directly met Emil.

“We’re just having informal meeting while eating lunch together,” said Basuki briefly.

Not long enough, both leaders were seen eating lunch together in Basuki's office.
