Jakarta Council (DPRD) appreciated Jakarta Government for achieving 'Honorable Mention' title from 2020 Sustainable Transport Award (STA) committee.

Commission B Chairman, Abdul Azis mentioned, this achievement showed a good synergy between regional and central government in managing transportation.

"We appreciate Jakarta Governor and all the apparatuses for their hard work. It means all of their work are on track and synchronized well in order to realize the blue print of integrated transportation," he conveyed, Thursday (1/16).

He reminds Jakarta Government for not being complacent because Jakarta still has many problems that should be solved such as providing an ease, secure, and comfort public transport with more adequate system.

"We want more people prefer public transport over private vehicles," he added.

For information, Jakarta Government achieved Honorable Mention title from 2020 Sustainable Transport Award (STA) for its hard work in implementing sustainable transport. This event was held at Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington D.C. on Tuesday, January 14.

2020 Sustainable Transport Award Committee consists of experts and international scale organizations in sustainable transportation field such as Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP), WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities, The World Bank, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability, BRT, Clean Air Asia, Despacio, and others.
