Kali Baru Timur Channel's Retaining Wall Repair Reaches 85 Percent

Kali Baru Timur Channel's retaining wall repair on Jalan Permata RW 06, Kampung Melayu, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, has reached 85 percent to complete. This repair is targeted to finish by the end of February.

This involves at least 20 Water Resources (SDA) Unit personnel and long arm unit to repair it. On the location, personnel installed river stones and reinforced concrete or sloof to strengthen its foundation.

Jatinegara SDA Unit Staff, Tarmizal mentioned, this retaining wall was collapsed on January 2nd because of high intensity of rain.

"From that day, we repair it as soon as possible. Our target is to complete this repair in the end of February," he asserted, Wednesday (2/19).

Due to its height of 10 meters and length of 47 meters, he admitted, it takes quite a long time to repair it. Besides, Kali Baru Timur Channel is connected directly to Ciliwung River in Jatinegara.
