MRT Phase II Construction will Be Postponed Until June 2020

MRT Phase II construction for CP201 (Sarinah Station, Monas Station, and tunnel project) package is postponed from March to June 2020 due to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

CP201 package contract which planned to begin in March should be postponed until June

"Land acquisition process will continue but CP201 package contract which planned to begin in March should be postponed until June," conveyed William P. Sabandar, PT. MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), Friday (5/15).

He considered, it is impossible to do construction right now because MRT Phase II with CP201 package is targeted to start in June and finish in March 2025.

Temporary Closure of 7 MRT Stations Runs Well

"Because of COVID-19 pandemic, it is impossible for contractor to start the construction. Besides, some workers are also from Japan," he explained.

For information, MRT construction for Bundaran HI - Kota route is divided in several construction packages from CP200 to CP206. CP200 is construction package for the main substation structure that has been completed at Monas.

MRT Bundaran HI - Kota route is planned to be constructed as long as 5.8 kilometers with total 7 underground stations. Those are Sarinah, Monas, Harmoni, Sawah Besar, Mangga Besar, Glodok, and Kota Stations with depth between 17-36 meters from the ground surface.
