Ancol Supports Plastic-free Lifestyle in Jakarta

PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol is supporting the Gubernatorial Regulation number 42 on eco-friendly shopping bags usage. They also have prepared a strict sanction for tenants who violate this rule.

According to Rika Lestari, Corporate Communications Manager of Ancol Dreamland Park, to support it, all this time, her party had implemented a policy of free plastic straws in tenant's and Ancol's restaurants, including styrofoam free policy.

"At the gift shop, we don't use single-use plastic bags anymore," she expressed, Wednesday (7/1).

Instead, management used prepared a paper bag.

"We have also posted information related to the regulation on the information boards and banners," she stated.

She added the Food and Beverage Retail Division would also conduct monitoring related to the implementation of the regulation. Then the monitoring results would be used as evaluation material.

"We get assistance from the Go Green community formed by Ancol with the Kehati Foundation to educate the dangers of plastic waste to visitors and partners," she said.
