PT Jaktour Supports Eco-friendly Shopping Bags Usage

PT Jakarta Tourisindo (Jaktour) is ready to support the mandatory use of eco-friendly shopping bags in shopping centers, supermarkets and folk markets spread over the capital city.

Novita Dewi, President Director of PT Jaktour said her party would conduct improvements including reducing single-use plastic bags and would issue a decree related to the derivative of this regulation.

"We really support it. Like hotel, tenant and sport center, they are no longer using plastic straws and mineral water in disposable plastic bottles in the meeting," she expressed, Thursday (7/2).

Even hotels under PT Jaktour are no longer using plastic as a blanket or towel wrapping, including laundry, but it is replaced with a laundry bag made from cloth.

As for the businesses engaged in sports like d'Arcici Sport Center, PT Jaktour always urged the tenant coordinator not to use single-use plastic and it was expected to be continued to other tenants.

"It also applies to hotel guests," he stated.
