Penjaringan Sub-district SDA Unit Head, Pendi Kamal stated, dredging was carried out manually by 9 Penjaringan Sub-district SDA Unit.
"For dredging work, they use sacks, hoes, garden forks, buckets, crowbars, pickaxe, and sledge hammer," he explained, Friday (3/5).
Channel in Kampung Melayu Kecil DredgedAccording to him, water channel dredging has been carried out since this early week. Until today, personnel have collected 650 sacks full of mud from bottom of the channel. It needs to be dredged because this channel is already full of mud and garbage.
"We estimate it to finish around the end of this week. We dredge channel with 280 meters long, 1.5 meters high, and mud thickness about 0.3 meters," he informed.
After dredging, this channel is expected to hold more water thus inundation and flooding can be prevented from occurring in the area.
