"Mud and garbage cause silting on the channel. We dredge it as an anticipatory step to prevent inundation and flooding," he added, Thursday (3/18).

He deployed 6 personnel and 1 heavy equipment in form of wheel loader to dredge the channel. While 4 dump trucks deployed to transport the collected garbage and mud.

"In this week, we have dredged 280 cubic meters of mud and garbage. We dispose it to Budi Dharma Landfill since it needs mud to elevate the land to prevent it from flood," he explained.

He explained the dredging work has started since a week ago and targeted to finish by the end of March.

"Hopefully this dredging can prevent inundation and flooding in surrounding area. Especially during heavy to extreme rainfall," he conveyed.
