PT. Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta (Perseroda) is working on MRT Phase II construction from March 22 to June 30, 2021. During the period, traffic engineering is carried out.

Here is information about traffic engineering conducted by MRT Jakarta;
A. Tunnel preparatory construction work on the north side of Bundaran HI Station
MRT Jakarta-BSSN RI Builds Cooperation for Security of Information and Electronic Transactions1. Traffic engineering in stage 1-4 within period of March 22-April 14, 2021:
a. West side of Jalan M.H. Thamrin (towards Kota), in front of Lippo Thamrin Building to Topas Tower which originally consisted of 4 regular vehicle lanes and 1 Transjakarta lane (4+1), is divided into 2, the left and right sides of road median. With configuration 3 regular vehicle lanes on the left side and 1 mixed traffic of regular vehicles and Transjakarta buses (3+1).
b. From in front of Menara Topas Building to in front of Bawaslu returns into 4 regular vehicle lanes and 1 Transjakarta lane (4+1).
c. After Bawaslu Building or in front of Jaya Building, vehicle lanes is divided into 2, left and right sides of road median. With configuration of 1 mixed traffic and 2 lanes of regular vehicles (2+1) on the left side and 1 traffic lane for regular vehicles on the right side.
d. East side of Jalan M.H. Thamrin (towards Blok M) in front of Sinarmas Building which originally consisted of 4 lanes for regular vehicles and 1 lane for Transjakarta (4+1), is divided into 2, the left and right sides of road median. With configuration of 3 lanes for regular vehicles on the left side and 1 lane for regular vehicles and 1 mixed traffic (1+1).
e. The work carried out is ground reinforcement for access to the launch of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) and west side sheet pile dismantling.
2. Traffic engineering in stage 1-4A on April 15-30, 2021:
a. West side of Jalan M.H. Thamrin (towards Kota) in front of Lippo Thamrin Building until Topas Tower is divided into 2, left and right sides of road median. with configuration of 3 regular vehicle lanes on the left side and 1 mixed traffic lane on the right side (3+1).
b. In front of Topas Tower to Bawaslu Building, it returns into 5 regular vehicle lanes and 1 Transjakarta lane (5+1).
c. There is lane shift at intersection between Jalan M.H. Thamrin-Jalan Wahid Hasyim (Sarinah Intersection).
d. West side of Jalan M.H. Thamrin (towards Kota) in front of Jaya Building has the same configuration with stage 1-4.
e. East side of Jalan M.H. Thamrin (towards Blok M) in front of Sinarmas Building has the same configuration as stage 1-4.
f. The work carried out is ground reinforcement for access to the launch of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) and west side sheet pile dismantling.
3. Traffic engineering stage 1-4B on May 1-June 4, 2021:
a. West side of Jalan M.H. Thamrin (towards City) from Lippo Thamrin Building to Bawaslu Building remains the same lane configuration for vehicle in stage 1-4A.
b. West side of Jalan M.H. Thamrin (towards City) in front of Jaya Building becomes 4 lanes for regular vehicle and 1 mixed traffic lane between Transjakarta bus and regular vehicles (4+1).
c. East side of Jalan M.H. Thamrin (towards Blok M) in front of Cakrawala Tower which originally consisted of 5 regular vehicle lanes and 1 Transjakarta lane (5+1), is divided into 2 lanes on the left and right sides of road median. With configuration of 3 lanes for regular vehicles on the left side and 1 lane on the right side for Transjakarta (3+1).
d. In front of Sinarmas, the lanes divided into 2 lanes on the left and right sides of road median. The left side has 4 regular vehicle lanes and the right side has 1 mixed traffic lane.
e. The work carried out is retaining walls installation for access to the launch of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) and west-east sides sheet piles dismantling.
B. Traffic engineering for Thamrin MRT Jakarta Station construction
1. Traffic engineering in stage 1-2B on April 1-May 31, 2021:
a. West side of Jalan M.H. Thamrin (towards Kota) from in front of BPPT to Bank Indonesia temporary bus stop will remain the same with current traffic condition.
b. East side of Jalan M.H. Thamrin (towards Blok M) from in front of Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry (ESDM) to Thamrin 10 temporary bus stop remains the same with current traffic condition.
2. Traffic engineering in stage 1-2C on June 1-30, 2021:
a. West side of Jalan M.H. Thamrin (towards Kota) from in front of BPPT to in front of Bank Indonesia which originally divided into 2 regular vehicle lanes and 1 Transjakarta lane on the left side (2+1), changed into 4 regular vehicle lanes and 1 mixed traffic lane (4+1).
b. South side of Jalan M.H. Thamrin from in front of ESDM Ministry until Thamrin 10 which originally consisted of 5 regular vehicle lanes and 1 Transjakarta lane (5+1), changed into 4 regular vehicle lanes and 1 mixed traffic lane (4+1).
c. The work carried out is ground reinforcement in form of power blender, jet grouting and diaphragm wall installation as retaining structure for Thamrin Station construction.
PT. MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) President Director, William P. Sabandar said, the progress of MRT Jakarta Phase II construction for contract package 201 (CP201) Bundaran HI-Harmoni is now entering Diaphragm Wall (D-Wall) installation stage as the retaining wall at Monas Station.
In Thamrin Station, it enters the drainage relocation stage, preparation for D-Wall construction such as soil pit, soil foundation, and tunneling preparation.
"This advanced traffic engineering is carried out to maintain smooth traffic flow during the construction period from March 22 to June 30, 2021," he stated, Monday (3/22).
He expected cooperation and understanding from the community to continue supporting the project. Besides, he reminded road users and public transport users to pay attention and follow instructions from the officers on the field.
"PT. MRT Jakarta apologizes for the inconvenience during this construction work," he conveyed.
