1,738 Kg of Illegal Meat Destroyed in Jakarta

The Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Agency has noted that as many as 1,738 kg of illegal meat have been burned during February - March.

They (meat) are confirmed to be illegal as they were slaughtered outside the official slaughterhouse

Jakarta KPKP Agency Acting Head Suharini Eliawati disclosed it was conducted at the Pork Slaughterhouse (RPH), Jalan Peternakan Raya, RT 07/RW 07, Kapuk Urban Village, Cengkareng, West Jakarta.

"They (meat) are confirmed to be illegal as they were slaughtered outside the official slaughterhouse and caught being transported in non-compliant vehicles such as not having meat coolers," she expressed, Monday (3/22).

She added this year slaughterhouses in Jakarta had increased from 125 to 400. Therefore, the monitoring against the RPH would be further improved, namely in the form of sanctions.

"If residents find any irregularities related to the condition of meat or the slaughter of livestock, please report it to our representatives at the sub-district office. We'll follow up it," she asserted.
