Jakarta Experience Board (JXB), new branding of PT. Jakarta Tourisindo, is building joint venture with Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and PT. Moda Integrasi Transportasi Jabodetabek (MITJ) to revitalize and develop Kota Tua-Sunda Kelapa into world-class tourist destination.

JXB President Director, Novita Dewi conveyed, super team would be formed through this joint venture, consisting of human resources who have good track records and reputations in their respective fields.
"It becomes one of our main duties to develop tourist destinations, especially in Kota tua. We hope Kota Tua-Sunda Kelapa will become world-class tourist destination," she asserted, Thursday (4/29).

But it still maintains its heritage value, while emphasizing Jakarta as one of the most historic tourism destinations in Indonesia.
"Total planning area for Kota Tua-Sunda Kelapa Special Economy Zone (KEK) reaches 241 hectares. JXB and our two partners, ITDC and MITJ form joint venture which is expected to produce an effective, efficient, and of course integrated and sustainable management system," she mentioned.
According to her, there are many stakeholders associated with Kota Tua, but there is no system that connects all of them. Therefore, through this collaboration, she will carry out efficient management to make Kota Tua become new magnet for tourism in Jakarta, even Indonesia.
"So far, it is only partial. In my opinion, this is the first major collaboration between Jakarta Government and central government in tourism sector. This is a very strategic momentum to encourage all stakeholders towards the same vision," she said.
She explained that management in this tourist destination will not only improve tourism sector which had slumped in COVID-19 pandemic, but also contributed in driving economy, improving welfare of residents around Kota Tua and Sunda Kelapa, and building local pride within local community.
"I hope this joint venture can provide solutions for all problems in Kota Tua and be a concrete step since many people doubt that Kota Tua revitalization will never be completed," she stated.
After signing main agreement document on forming joint venture about managing Kota Tua-Sunda Kelapa are that will be continued with making master plan or grand design.
"So far there is no clear grand design regarding Kota Tua arrangement. After completing the grand design, we will encourage all stakeholders to realize it," she closed.
