13,000 Policemen to Secure Jakarta Governor Inauguration

Basuki Tjahaja Purnama will be inaugurated as Jakarta Governor on upcoming November 18. For the inauguration, the City Police put on standby 13,000 personnel to secure the event that will be held at City Council (DPRD) building, Jalan Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta.

“There are 13,000 personnel to be deployed to anticipate security disturbance during the inauguration. There will be security layers. For instance, layer one is for officials and council members, layer two for journalists and invitation guests, and layer three is for the visitors,” stated City Police Chief Insp. Gen. Unggung Cahyono, Saturday (11/15).

While to anticipate demonstration act community organizations (ormas), the police will prepare armored vehicles and barracudas.
