We call on all people to further increase vigilance and be more obedient to health protocols
Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head Dwi Oktavia Tatri Lestari stated, based on the latest data, the swab tests had been carried out on 25,575 specimens. 20,460 of them were to diagnose new cases with 7,505 positive and 12,955 negative results. In addition, an antigen test was also held today, where 5,053 were tested, with 776 positive results and 4,277 negative results.
"We call on all people to further increase vigilance and be more obedient to health protocols, due to the increasingly rapid transmission of Covid-19. Obey the rules to suppress the spread of this virus," she expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Thursday (6/24).
Central Jakarta People must Be Disciplined and Enthusiastic to Face CovidShe mentioned the trend of active positive cases in children under the age of 18 continued to grow. Of the 7,505 positive cases today, 830 cases were children aged 6 - 18 years, 282 cases were children aged 0 - 5 years, 5,775 cases were aged 19 - 59 years, and 618 cases were aged 60 years and over.
"This is very important for parents to take care of their children more strictly and avoid going out of the house with the children. As much as possible do activities at home with children, as positive cases in children are currently still high," she urged.
Of the 7,505 new cases, 2 cases were from Thousand Islands, 1,550 were from West Jakarta, 836 were from Central Jakarta, 1,105 were from South Jakarta, 2,310 were from East Jakarta, and 954 were from North Jakarta. The sub-districts with the highest number of cases included Ciracas (350 cases), Cipayung (341 cases), Kembangan (322 cases), and Pulo Gadung (305 cases).
As for the number of active cases in Jakarta, date is 40,900 people who are undergoing self-isolation at home (including data of athlete's homestead) or increased to 5,195 cases. While the total number of confirmation cases in Jakarta to date was 494,462 cases.
Of these cases, 445,450 people were cured and 8,112 people died with a world with a death rate of 1.7%, while Indonesia's death rate was 2.7%.
"The spike cases are also seen in the number of funerals with Covid-19 procedures in Jakarta. In a row, there were 150 funerals on June 22, 180 funerals on June 23, and as of 12 PM today there have been 132 funerals using the Covid-19 protocol. We must be vigilant and prevent the virus together," she explained.
As for the number of occupied isolation beds and ICUs at the Covid-19 referral hospital in Jakarta is also almost full. As of June 23, the total number of beds prepared at 140 hospitals that treat Covid-19 in Jakarta is 9,852 isolation beds, which are currently occupied by 90% or 8,874 patients, and 1,218 ICU beds, which are now occupied by 86% or 1,048 patients. The administration would also continue to coordinate with the Central Government in preparing controlled self-isolation facilities spread across a number of areas, such as the use of flats, one of which is the Nagrak Flats, and a number of sport halls (GOR).
She also described the development of the number of clusters in Jakarta. For office clusters on June 14-20, there were 576 positive cases from 105 offices. Meanwhile, the family cluster on June 14-20, there were 10,967 positive people from 912 families. “We also advise residents to reduce mobility, obey the rules of working from the office as much as 25% capacity and the rest to work from home. Going out of the house if it's really important, of course we all don't want the cases to increase in the future," he added.
Therefore, residents do not need to panic when they were diagnosed with positive antigen/PCR. For those who get positive results on the antigen test, make sure to immediately take free PCR test at the Puskesmas or other laboratories independently. The steps when tested positive for the Antigen/PCR test are:
1. Report to the local RT/RW/Puskesmas
2. Do self-isolation at home, keep wearing a good mask at home, separate yourself from other family members
3. Ensure close contacts in the home/work environment immediately take a PCR test
4. RT/RW and Puskesmas will assist in daily monitoring of the patient's condition. The Puskesmas will determine the management steps for the patient according to their respective conditions; whether to self-isolation at home or at hospitals.
"What the public needs to know and pay attention to is if you feel symptoms but when the antigen test is negative, you should still do the PCR test. Because, people who are tested positive during the antigen test, will almost certainly also be positive during the PCR test, but if negative during the antigen test, not necessarily negative results at the time of the PCR test and may be positive when tested by PCR, especially if they are symptomatic," she furthered.
Regarding the new variant, the entire community must remain vigilant as this new variant spreads more quickly and causes more severe symptoms. Jakarta is actively conducting Whole Genome Sequencing/WGS sample checks, which the Health Agency (Dinkes) has sent a total of 987 samples of suspected virus mutations. Of these, 70 samples were declared as Variant of Concern (VoC).
"Of the 70 VoCs, it has been identified that 33 cases have a history of travel from abroad (imported cases), 19 local transmissions of the Delta variant in Jakarta, 10 local transmissions of the Delta variant in Debotabek (Depok, Bogor, Tangerang and Bekasi), where the examination was conducted in Jakarta, and 8 cases are still in the process of being verified, whether they are the Delta variant from abroad or local transmission. As for the details of the 70 VoC, namely 12 Alpha variants (B.117), 3 Beta variants (B.1.351), 55 Delta variants (B.1617.2)," she explained.
Meanwhile, the vaccination process is still ongoing in Jakarta. The administration continues to accelerate vaccination thus community immunity can be quickly formed, where residents aged over 18 years can be vaccinated. Residents with Jakarta ID cards and those who work/school and domiciled in Jakarta, may register for vaccination via JAKI app or corona.jakarta.go.id, to avoid long queues at health facilities.
The total number of vaccination targets for Jakarta is 8,815,157 people. For Program Vaccination, the current total dose 1 is 3,753,451 people (43%) and the total dose 2 now reaches 1,898,567 people (22%).
"Based on the study results, the Delta variant is proven to be 4x more infectious and increases the number of hospitalizations. However, vaccination and strict adherence to health protocols can minimize the potential for contracting this virus. a new virus. All vaccine brands are safe, useful, and of good quality. Vaccination is proven not only to prevent illness, but also to prevent death. So, let's get vaccinated and don't miss this opportunity," she concluded.
