Channel Normalization on Jalan Cempaka has Touched 70 Percent

The water channel normalization in RW 03, Jalan Cempaka, Pasar Baru Urban Village, Sawah Besar Sub-district has now touched 70 percent. It is targeted to be complete by the end of November.

Hopefully it can be finished without any problems like floods

Sawah Besar Sub-district's Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit Acting Head, Yusuf Sumardani said, the channel has a total length of 193 meters.

"Previously, similar action was executed in RW 04 for 150 meters, then we continued in RW 03 considering it had not been repaired for a long time," he expressed, Sunday (11/7).

Thus far, the 100-meter long channel was already installed with U-ditch measuring 60x60x120 centimeters. Then river stones were also installed already up to 93 meters long.

"To speed up its installation, we send around 20 personnel plus one excavator to the location. Yet, we have difficulties at the end of the alley as the equipment cannot enter so it is done manually, moreover the channel only has 0.4 meters wide," he explained.

As for the information, it has been carried out since the end of September and it has touched 135 meters or around 70 percent.

"Hopefully it can be finished without any problems like floods," he hoped.
