December, Channel Construction in RW 03 Rawabunga Completed

The 214-long water channel development on Jalan Bekasi I, RW 03 Rawabunga, Jatinegara, which has been ongoing since early November is targeted to be completed in the next three weeks or around mid-December.

Jatinegara Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Task Force Coordinator, Tamrizal said, the construction involved 12 personnel was executed by wi dening the channel from 20 centimeters to 60 centimeters. It aimed at accommodating rainwater in large quantities during rainy season.

"Of the total channel length of 214 meters, about 65 meters have been completed or around 55 percent. It is targeted to be complete in three weeks ahead," he said, Friday (11/26).

He explained, its construction conducted manually using casting system. After drying, the channel immediately covered with concrete. However, the drainage control was also prepared for easy maintenance.

According to him, narrow access to the location was the main obstacle for officers in making the channel. The materials used had to be stored on the edge of Jalan Raya Bekasi Timur and transported to the location using a cart.

"The making of this channel is following up on residents' proposals through Musrenbang," he concluded.
