According to him, Gulkarmat Sub-agency personnel had been given training for animal rescue, such as how to handle and feed cats, dogs, reptiles, and monkeys. But, he assessed, it's a bit more difficult for monkeys since they have to make animal comfortable first. In order to rescue animals, his side also worked with several animal lovers communities.

"We rescue animals, whether they have an owner or not. For stray animals, we will immediately hand them over to several communities or residents who want to adopt them. For pets, we advise our personnel to take care of them. Particularly when the flood occurs, we have to save them immediately and place them in safer place," he asserted.

He informed residents who need assistance to evacuate their pets to call 112 or contact Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency at +62 21 634 4215.
