Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan inaugurated Bio Trans Park on Jl. Letjen Suprapto, Sumur Batu, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Friday (12/17), as an effort to make Jakarta a green and environmentally friendly pilot city.

Jakarta City Park and Urban Forestry Agency Head, Suzi Marsitawati explained, Bio Trans Park was built on Jakarta Government's land with total area of 2,500 square meters. It consists of RTH covering an area of 1,483 square meters and RTB 522 square meters which can accommodate approximately 3,000 cubic meters of water.
"Historically, part of this land was formerly a gas station that has been re-functioned as green open space. It is currently in the process of handing over from Regional Asset Management Agency to Central Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency," she mentioned.
For information, Bio Trans Park's RTH is planted with fruit trees consisting of bignay (buni), gowok, java plum (jamblang), santol (kecapi), rukam, bay leaf (salam), cipedak avocado, velvet apple (bisbul), and others.
It is equipped with various facilities, such as sidewalk, park benches, and bioswale which is also used to minimize inundation. RTH and RTB (retention basin) construction is carried out independently by Central Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency and Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency.
