SDA Agency Adds 26 New Mobile Pumps in 2021

Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency had procured 26 new mobile pumps in Fiscal Year 2021.

New mobile pumps will be distributed to areas prone to flood and inundation in five municipalities

Jakarta SDA Agency's Administration for Equipment and Supplies (Alkal) Sub-unit Head, Boris Karlop conveyed, those 26 new mobile pumps have different capacities, ranging from 250 to 1,000 liters per second.

"New mobile pumps will be distributed to areas prone to flood and inundation in five municipalities," he stated, Friday (1/7).

He explained that mobile pump used as support for stationary pumps. Since mobile pump is easy to move, it will be alerted and operated in areas prone to inundation when it rains.

"It is carried out as anticipation and mitigation of climate change, where rainfall is getting higher and weather is uncertain. Thus we prepare mobile pumps to handle inundation and flooding," he explained.

He hopes by adding 26 new mobile pumps, flood and inundation in Jakarta can be handled quickly.

"Including the new ones, SDA Agency currently has total 300 mobile pumps. We are targeting inundation can be receded in maximum 6 hours," he asserted.
