This Year, 4,500 Animals in North Jakarta Targeted to Be Vaccinated Rabies

The North Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency is about to provide rabies vaccine shots for 4,500 animals carrying rabies in six sub-districts in North Jakarta in the near future.  

Last year, as many as 4,801 animals or 106.71 percent had been vaccinated against rabies

North Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head, Unang Rustanto said, the target was the same as last year's target.

"Last year, as many as 4,801 animals or 106.71 percent had been vaccinated against rabies," he expressed, Monday (1/24).

January-December, East Jakarta KPKP Vaccinates 12,344 Pets

He added it was done to maintain the Jakarta area as a rabies-free area since 2004 based on the Health Minister's Decree, as well as to provide security and comfort for the owner and local residents.

"Last year, we managed to give rabies vaccination to 3,079 cats, 1,677 dogs, and 45 other animals carrying rabies," he said.
