Overcoming Inundation, Channel on Jl. Kebon Kacang Normalized

Tanah Abang Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Unit personnel are seen normalizing the water channel on Jalan Kebon Kacang 38 RW 04, Kebon Kacang Urban Village, Central Jakarta.

We normalize it using a 40x40-centimeter U-ditch

Tanah Abang Sub-district SDA Unit Head, Eli Menawan Sari stated, channel normalization would be carried out along 220 meters by widening the channel from 30 to 40 centimeters and deepening it from 40 to 50 centimeters.

"We normalize it using a 40x40-centimeter U-ditch," she added, Thursday (1/27).

Early February, Channel Normalization on Jalan Borobudur Completed

This normalization work, she explained, was carried out to follow up on the urban village's request, where the channel was often clogged and damaged in parts of its retaining wall which caused frequent inundation on Jalan Kebon Kacang 38.

Her side deployed 6 personnel equipped with one breaker unit and generator set. They normalized the channel manually, starting from dredging to installing U-ditch.

"Normalization work has been started since January 17 and is targeted to be completed in the next 60 days. Currently, we have installed cover plats on the channel along 6 meters," she mentioned.
