Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, visited the Cilangkap Agro Edu Wisata (AEW) Area, East Jakarta today, Friday (1/28.
On that occasion, he was accompanied by the Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Agency and the East Jakarta administration, to participate in harvesting the Golden Melon.

"Alhamdulillah, today we are enjoying another side of Jakarta. Besides getting an interesting experience, we can also see a productive area. This is an example of how the AEW area has the potential to become a tourism center as well as learning, either for knowledge or for application," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.
He also appreciated the existence and activities of the Kampung Bayam Madani Farmer Group, which are carrying out a learning process related to various food plant varieties through workshops. He hoped, today's activity could be a routine agenda and be developed.
"We hope it is able to attract more local residents and outside Jakarta to study and adopt this place to be applied in various places where they live or produce," he added.
Not only that, similar appreciation also given to the KPKP Agency to hold technical guidance on melon cultivation for the Kampung Bayam Madani Farmer Group in a bid to produce quality seeds. Moreover, the KPKP Seed Development and Plant Protection Center had collaborated with various parties, including Faculty of Biology, University of Gadjah Mada, and Faculty of Agriculture, IPB.
He added, the Jakarta would continuously innovate in the development of urban farming through new ideas, namely the provision of facilities and assistance to the community involving academics, the central government, the private sector, and communities in Jakarta.
"Our next target is to build the Archipelago Cultural Padepokan, which aims to integrate cultural, tourism, and agricultural creative economic development programs. If it was done consistently, it would have a very good economy. Therefore, to the KPKP Agency Head, thank you for giving me a chance. InsyaAllah, it can be a priority in Jakarta," he concluded.
