The Seribu Islands Environment (LH) Sub-agency, held a preparatory meeting and socialized the 2022 National Waste Care Day event at the Mitra Praja Building, Sunter, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, on Wednesday (2/2).

Seribu Islands LH Sub-agency Head, Sujanto Budiroso said, the event will be kicked off on February 21 with the theme "Jakarta Collaboration Festival Aware of Waste". Before the provincial level activities, he would hold a series of activities that involve Seribu Islands residents, the Waste Management Agency (BPS) at the RW and cross-sectoral levels.
"We need the support of all parties to handle waste thus it is no longer brought to Bantar Gebang. It aims as an educational program, to increase public awareness for waste management, as well as strengthen the commitment to implement local mitigation actions and make Jakarta Waste Awareness," he expressed.
HPSN, Anies Emphasizes Importance of Waste Management in RW ScopeHe went on to say that several series of activities would enliven the Seribu Islands, such as a creative educational video creation competition for BPS in each RW in the form of waste sorting and unique activities to manage plastic waste with the theme "Collaboration Towards My Zero Waste Island" which will be assessed by the Environment Sub-agency.
Then, the winner would be announced and given a prize during the event.
"We also launch Gerebek Sampah (mud cleanup) action on residential islands, clean up Jakarta bay and underwater trash on Pramuka Island," he stated.
