Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD)'s Commission B Council Chairman, Ismail Salim is proud and appreciates the financial performance of the Jakarta Experience Board (PT Jakarta Tourisindo).
This achievement is very proud amid the Covid-19 pandemic, I really appreciate it
In 2019, he explained, the JXB still recorded a loss of up to Rp 21.81 billion (audited). However, in 2020, they had been able to achieve a profit of Rp 2.71 billion (audited).
BP BUMD Appreciates JXB's Positive Performance in 2021"This year, they can record a profit of Rp 14.75 billion (unaudited). This achievement is very proud amid the Covid-19 pandemic, I really appreciate it," he expressed, Tuesday (2/22).
Based on its operational performance record, this success was partly due to efforts to diversify in providing its services.
"They are quickly building accommodation services for health workers, hospitality services, and catering services for those who are exposed to Covid-19 with symptoms (OTG), including health workers," he explained.
He added breakthroughs like this deserve appreciation, moreover, the main business in hotel and resort services is very unlikely to survive in the pandemic if it only relies on business concepts.
"Hope the JXB and other BUMDs can map well the changing conditions caused by this pandemic thus the business strategy can be adapted to the new conditions," he added.
Thereby, he urged the business development team in each BUMD to be strengthened thus something that was initially perceived as a threat could be turned into various new business opportunities. "By so, it can meet operational performance targets and financial performance," he explained.
As for the BUMDs with the status of Perumda, according to its main functions, it is better to optimize the public services.
"The aim is the community feels the benefits of its services thus when more people use this type of BUMD service, it will naturally have a positive impact on dividends," he explained.
Then for BUMDs with the status of Perseroda, besides providing the best public service and completing assignment programs well, they must also be able to develop their businesses so they can compete with the private sector.
"Hope they can be more advanced and provide benefits for all in the future," he stated.
