June, Sheet Pile and Embung Construction in Si Pitung Area Completed

The North Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency is building an embung (artificial lake) and a sheet pile in the Rumah Si Pitung area, Marunda Urban Village, Cilincing Sub-district.

Sheet pile is also made to minimize water overflowing from embung to residential areas during heavy rains

North Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Adrian Mara Maulana conveyed it was carried out to arrange the Rumah Si Pitung area, including to anticipate land abrasion around the reservoir and beautify the area.

He explained the work has been carried out since the end of January through seven workers and is targeted to be complete in early June.

According to the plan, sheet piles would have 181 meters in length with a height of 220 centimeters and a width of 40-50 centimeters, depending on the geographical location of the retention basin.

Besides using gabions as a foundation, concrete sloofs would also be attached at some points on the sheet pile.

"We hope everything goes smoothly thus it is finished on time," he stated.
