Betawi Dance Amazes Visitors of Dubai 2020 Expo

The Jakarta administration officially participated in the world's biggest exhibition series, Expo 2020 Dubai.

On the first day, they performed twice at the Sun Stage and the Indonesian Pavilion, the performances of traditional Betawi dancers under the Jakarta Culture Agency managed to amaze the visitors who attended this international scale exhibition.

An Italian spectator, Francesco, expressed he was amazed at the performance of the Betawi dance which was held at the Indonesian Pavilion.

"The dance is amazing. I never knew anything about Indonesia, but this summer will visit to see the beautiful scenery, nice people, and good food. I'm curious and Indonesia will be my next trip later," he expressed, Sunday (3/13).

One of the Betawi dancers, Anggi Agustina said that she and the art team from Jakarta enjoyed performing at the event as they received positive responses from the audience.

As an artist, she missed performing live in front of an audience and it was even more special to be back performing at an international level like Expo 2020 Dubai.

"Happy and proud to be part of the participation or performance of the art team from the Jakarta Culture Agency at the Dubai World Expo 2020 world exhibition. The audience is very enthusiastic, even happy when the dancer team invites them to dance together," she admitted.

The administration would fill a series of events at Expo 2020 Dubai from March 11 to 17.

They also exhibited several MSME products, fashion, and also held a business forum to capture investment potential that would be directly fronted, Investment and One-stop Integrated Service (PTSP) Agency, as well as BUMDs such as PT MRT, PT Jakarta Propertindo, PT Sarana Jaya, and PT Transjakarta.

As for the information, the Expo 2020 Dubai event is an international exhibition to present the achievements of world countries organized by Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

It was originally scheduled for October 20, 2020, to April 10, 2021. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it could only be held from October 2021 to March 2022.
