Central Jakarta SDA Builds New Channel on Jalan HOS Cokroaminoto

The Central Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency is building a new water channel on Jalan HOS Cokroaminoto, RT 02/05, Menteng Urban Village that will be connected to the Gresik River.

This work is targeted to be completed in early May

Central Jakarta SDA Sub-agency's Maintenance Section Head Achmad Daeroby mentioned the new channel is being made because the old one was no longer functioning since it was buried and located in the middle of the road, making it difficult for personnel to clean it.

"It aims to restore its functionality and make the cleaning easier," he said, Tuesday (3/15).

His side used U-ditch to build the channel as long as 280 meters with a width of 120 centimeters and depth of 120 centimeters. He hoped it could prevent inundation.

"The work has been conducted since Monday through 20 personnel and is targeted to be complete in early May. So far, it has reached 80 meters," he explained.
