World Water Day 2022 Commemoration Event Held at Cincin Reservoir

PAM Jaya and PAL Jaya are collaborating with Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency to hold an event to commemorate World Water Day 2022 at Cincin Reservoir, Papanggo Urban Village, Tanjung Priok Sub-district.

The event was also attended by Jakarta Secretary Assistant for Development and Environment Afan Andriansah Idris, Jakarta SDA Agency Head Yusmada Faizal, and North Jakarta Mayor Ali Maulana Hakim.
This year's theme for World Water Day is Ground Water Making the Invisible. According to Idris, the theme was in line with the Jakarta Government's efforts in providing the best service in meeting the clean water needs of Jakarta residents.

"With this development, we hope it can meet the needs of clean water thus groundwater use can be controlled," he said.
PAM Jaya President Director Syamsul Bachri Yusuf added, so far, 68 percent of Jakarta residents have access to water. Yet there is still 32 percent who have not been able to access water from PAM Jaya, so they are allegedly using groundwater.
"There are still 11,000 liters of groundwater being taken per second. To overcome this problem, we need to build a piping system as long as 4.2 kilometers. Hopefully, it will be ready in 2030," he mentioned.
