The Jakarta Government urges residents to participate in switching off lights for one hour on Saturday (3/26) at 20:30-21:30 to support this year's Earth Hour.
The first outage will be carried out tomorrow for one hour, from 20:30 to 21:30
The power outage had been regulated in Governor's Instruction (Ingub) No. 14/2021 on Power Outages in the Context of Energy Saving and Reducing Carbon Emission.
Jakarta Environment (LH) Agency Head Asep Kuswanto mentioned that Ingub had mandated power outages three times a year, on the commemoration of Environmental Action in March, Earth Day, and World Environment Day.

The action of turning off the lights for one hour was intended to encourage people to save energy and contribute to reducing emissions.
"By turning the lights for an hour, we will save energy while reducing carbon emissions. Let's be a part of saving the earth," he conveyed.
Based on Ingub No.14/2021, here are the locations of power outages:
- All Jakarta Government buildings (except hospitals, health centers, clinics, and so on)
- Protocol and arterial roads
- Symbol of Jakarta City (City Hall Building, National Monument and its fountain, Patung Arjuna Wiwaha (Arjuna Wiwaha Statue) and its fountain, Hotel Indonesia Roundabout and its fountain, Patung Pemuda (Youth Monument) and its fountain, Patung Pahlawan (Heroes Monument), and General Sudirman Statue)
- Protocol and arterial roads in five administrative cities:
Central Jakarta
Jalan Sudirman (from Dukuh Atas to Sampoerna Strategic Building), Jalan MH Thamrin, around Jalan Medan Merdeka (except Medan Merdeka Utara in front of Presidential Palace), Jalan Gerbang Pemuda-Jalan Asia Afrika, Jakarta City Hall Office Courtyard and Central Jakarta Mayor Office
