Deputy Governor Releases DMI Volunteers to Semeru Eruption Location

Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria released volunteers group from the Jakarta Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI) to Semeru volcano eruption location, Lumajang, East Java, on Saturday (3/26), at Jakarta City Hall.

"As we all know, about four months ago, Semeru eruption occurred in Lumajang, East Java which resulted many casualties and damage to infrastructure, such as buildings, houses, public infrastructure and so on," he said in his remarks.
He conveyed that Semeru eruption disaster in Lumajang was the sorrow of all Indonesian people. Therefore, the DMI, government and volunteers should join hands to help disaster victims in Lumajang.

He was very happy and proud to be able to release representatives from DMI to serve the victims.
"I hope this assistance will encourage DMI to make mosque not only a place of worship for Muslims, but also an educational center, a center of da'wah which educate people. As well as a place for deliberation to build unity, strengthen national ties and a center for developing and improving people's welfare," he stated.
On this occasion, he reminded Jakarta DMI volunteers in the field to maintain their health, work together, and take care of each other. Therefore, they could do their job well.
