Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Head Isnawa Adji led the collaborative fire prevention operation in Tambora area, West Jakarta, on Tuesday (3/29). It was held to welcome the 2022 Disaster Preparedness Day (HKB), which falls on April 26.
This collaborative operation will target the houses of residents
Previously, the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) had launched a series of HKB 2022 events yesterday with the sub-theme 'Family Pillars of Nation's Resilience Facing Disasters'.
Because of that, the BPBD was about to hold various activities starting from collaborative fire prevention operations, education on fire prevention in fire-prone areas, monitoring landslide-prone areas, and preparing five-year disaster management plans.
BPBD Deploys Operational Vehicles for Each City to Support Disaster Management"This collaborative operation will target the houses of residents in 11 sub-districts in Tambora Sub-district which fall into the lower-middle category, by prioritizing areas that are close to each other," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Tuesday (3/29).
It was realized in collaboration with the Jakarta administration with PLN UID Jakarta Raya, BPBD, Fire and Rescue Agency, Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Agency, Satpol PP, sub-district and urban village apparatuses in Tambora, police's security and public order officers (Bhabinkamtibmas), village supervisory non-commissioned officers (Babinsa), Jakarta Baznas Bazis (Bazis), and Indonesian Electrical and Mechanical Contractors Association (AKLI).
He explained some of the activities include inspection of opal (checking of aerial cable networks to illegal power outages), inspecting electrical installations in homes, inspecting gas stove regulators and hoses, inspecting fire suppression equipment, and determining points for repairing electrical installations for underprivileged people.
Later on, the officers would take an inventory of allegedly vulnerable locations, and then advise residents or homeowners who were deemed to be violating and potentially causing fires by PLN and the local urban village.
"This is done in line with the weather conditions that are starting to enter the transition to the dry season following the predictions issued by the BMKG. Hope everything goes well," he concluded.
