Flower Park to Color Monas in 2015

To beautify and make visitors comfortable, a flower park or four-season flower park which resembles the Victoria Island Park in Canada will be built in the National Monument (Monas). The construction is planned to be started in 2015.

Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama positively welcomed
the Tahir Foundation's plan to build flower park in Monas. "Actually, we
have not been as good as foreign country which has four seasons. But for our
flower park, would use a coolant machine," he said, at City Hall, Tuesday
(12/10).
He disclosed that his party would wait for the park design.
While its maintenance will be handled by Jakarta Parks and Cemetery Department.
"I want to see the design first, because we have to
adjust to the tastes of the people and should be discussed with a few
people," he exclaimed.
Besides Monas, he furthered, other parks would also color
Jalan Gajah Mada, Jalan Hayam Wuruk, Seribu Islands, Pluit Reservoir and Setu
Babakan.
"We do not forget to clean up Setu Babakan, because
it's Betawi typical," he expressed.
Ahok added, arrangement of the city will be implemented
gradually. "So, all will be done gradually, at least we restore its
position like as Dutch era, from Sunda Kelapa becomes the Palace and
Monas," he finished.
