City and FEO Director Appreciate Preparation of MSMEs Involved in Jakarta E-Prix

A total of 200 MSMEs who will be involved in the Jakarta E-Prix on June 4 have attended the first-day briefing on Friday (27/5) at Ancol Beach City Mall, North Jakarta.

It could be a great opportunity, not only for Jakarta but also for Indonesia to introduce MSME products to the world

The activity was not only attended by MSMEs from Jakarta but also from 10 other provinces in Indonesia who had been confirmed to participate in Jakarta E-Prix. Those who had been given briefing materials would get a free stall around the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) in Ancol.

Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperative, Small Medium Enterprise (PPKUKM) Agency Head Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo urged MSMEs to prove their ability to compete at international events such as the 2022 Jakarta E-Prix.

"Because not only local tourists, but foreign tourists will also come to watch the race. It could be a great opportunity, not only for Jakarta but also for Indonesia to introduce MSME products to the world," she said as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

According to her, most people ordered MSME products out of pity. Therefore, it was necessary to improve the quality of MSME products and services.

"So far, MSME products have been ordered out of pity, not because of the quality of their products and services. This mindset must be changed," she asserted.

Through briefing, she hoped MSMEs could learn to improve the superiority of products and services they offered and help them to understand how to deal with international events.

On the other hand, Jakarta E-Prix Advisor Faransyah Agung Jaya or Coach Faran who was present on behalf of the Organizing Committee (OC) said that MSMEs must be ready to welcome the enthusiasm of the Formula E audience and take the best opportunity to promote Indonesian MSME products.

"The participation of MSMEs can certainly be a valuable experience. Moreover, some foreign tourists come to see the event. This can be used as a promotional event, such as opening up export opportunities in the future," he mentioned.

Through briefing, the selected MSMEs had the opportunity to improve the quality of their products. Because they wouldn't only sell products, but also how to give excellent service to both local and foreign visitors.

"MSMEs will receive education regarding hospitality management, F&B management, and waste management with high standards. Those are things that haven't been implemented by most of our MSMEs," he added.

Meanwhile, Formula E Operation (FEO) Strategic Event Planning Director Gemma Roura Serra also appreciated the preparations made by MSMEs.

"I'm from Spain, but I like Indonesian foods. The food is delicious, the management is good, as well as the packaging," he conveyed when was involved in a food testing session for MSME products at the location.

He hoped that MSMEs could provide a good and friendly service and got appreciation from Formula E audiences.

The event was also attended by Budi Aryanto the President Director of PT Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, Frans Tairas as the Manager of Ancol Beach City Mall, and representatives from Bank DKI.

For information, the briefing activity will continue on Saturday (5/28). On the second day, MSMEs will learn about hospitality, F&B management, waste management, and other technical matters.
