Content Creator Introduces Jakarta's Third Space in Berlin

Jakarta Content Creator Community (JCCC), a community of content creators in Jakarta holds a photo exhibition in Berlin, Germany.

The relationship between the two cities has been going very well

The exhibition, which will take place from June 12 to 17, 2022, also commemorates the 28th anniversary of the Berlin-Jakarta sister city cooperation and the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Germany and Indonesia. It is held at the LABO 6/2 gallery, Dahlmannstrasse, Berlin that showcases 50 photos posted which are the work of content creators in Jakarta.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by representatives of the Berlin Government, represented by Dr. Eric Stollenwerk from the senate chancellery of Berlin and the Education and Culture Attache for the Indonesian Embassy in Berlin Prof. Ardi Marwan. While the Jakarta delegation was led by Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Head Andhika Permata.

In his speech, Permata admitted that he was very happy to attend the event.

"On behalf of the Jakarta administration, we thank you for the invitation from Berlin thus this event can be realized," he expressed, Sunday (6/12) evening, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

He hoped that it could show the new face of Jakarta which is getting modern.

"Hope the collaboration can be more strengthened," he hoped.

Through the photos, Jakarta is showing a transformation in its third space, a space that is a meeting point for Jakarta residents.

The same statement came out from Stollenwerk who also appreciated the photo exhibition entitled "Jakarta Awaits You".

"Thus far, the relationship between the two cities has been going very well, starting from entrepreneurial activities to the digital economy," he said in his speech.

He added that many projects have been carried out by both cities, one of which is the photo exhibition.

"We look forward to the cooperation of the two cities in the future," he explained.

Another appreciation also came from Marwan. "We are very happy with this exhibition. Moreover, relations between Indonesia and Germany are already very strong," he uttered.

JCCC Representative Abby Marcel added that the photos on display had been through a rigorous curation of hundreds of existing photos. The 50 best photos were then taken to Berlin to be exhibited.

"There are also about 20 content creators who also participate," he continued.

Not only that the event also involved some Berlin creators having discussions and sharing stories.

"This discussion is also at the same time sharing opinions about introducing the city through each other's work," he added.

As for the information, the opening of the exhibition itself attracted the attention of many Berliners and Indonesian citizens living in Berlin, including several students who were members of the German Indonesian Student Association (PPI). It was realized in collaboration with JCCC, Jakarta administration, and IndoHub e.V.
