Let's Visit and Explore International Philatelic Exhibition as an Event for History Learning

Jakarta is about to host the 2022 World Stamp Championship and Exhibition at JIExpo Kemayoran which has been held from Thursday (8/4) to Tuesday (8/9), 2022.

I would like to invite families and schools in Jakarta to witness and learn up close the historical journey of postage stamps

On that occasion, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan invited Jakarta residents to come to the international event as a medium for learning history.

"I would like to invite families and schools in Jakarta to witness and learn up close the historical journey of postage stamps and items that have extraordinary historical value," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

He explained that stamps at that time were a means of connecting between countries, as at that time the majority of messages or letters were sent by post and postage.

"It will give an understanding to the new generation that we are residents of Jakarta, Indonesia, and the world, as these stamps will in time become a link between all of us in all parts of the world. This is an exhibition that has tremendous learning value," he added.

He then asserted that 61 countries attended the exhibition and world stamp competition. It helped make Jakarta a global city that was not only a place for international-class events to be held but its residents actively participated in the global event.

“I would like to underline that Jakarta is a Global City, one of which is characterized by being a venue for holding global events. This is one of the most important global events, that's why I invite all of you, so let's join," he asserted.
